Being intentional about traditions....fall edition

I don't know about you but the word "tradition" has always seemed so cozy and romanticized. Some have traditions in their lives that have been passed down for many generations, some have new traditions and some people don't even realize they are part of their lives. In books and movies you hear about passed down recipes and anecdotal stories of specific orchards they visit or ________. I have a mis of both intentional and coincidental traditions in my family. Mostly specific to the christmas season and food. This year i intend to continue to enjoy those but to also be intentional about building new ones into our tiny apt as well as with our friends and families. Here are a few fall things that i hope to do with Justin and the family so as to not let fall fly by too quickly.

{Go to the pumpkin patch}

{Add some fall to our home}

{Farmers market loot}

{Fall baking}

Enjoy fall and please share in the comments what you love about fall and traditions!

Baby steps to time management and self care....

This weeks Goals inspired by Kerri at Your Wishcake blog.

Fall walk with the pup

Love and Home Life:
-       Have a date night with Justin either out or at home but pend time together that doesn’t revolve around errands and work.
-       Spend 20 minutes a day tidying up our apt….it has been a bit neglected lately with our busy schedules.
-       Walk the dog at least 5 times.
Self:
-       Pamper my body ( do my nails, use nice lotion etc)
-       Manage my time better so work, home and school feel a bit less overwhelming.
-       Eat better in general
Creativity & Blogging:
-       Work on a DIY list for Christmas
-       Cook something new which at my rate would be anything…
-       Just blog something to get myself going

In an effort to make my life less discombobulated and take back my days from the chaos i am trying to add in some baby steps regarding time management and self love! Happy monday folks

This years birthday wishlist ....

So monday is the big day this year and although monday is not particularly celebratory and even though i have to go to the DMV(eekkh) i thought i would pretend that monday is not monday and that my birthday is all week! so here is a peek at some wish-listing....  Among the many practical wants of rent money,dog food, higher pay in home laundry and less student loans i also have those completely selfish, unpractical and material wants for this years birthday...

1. A vacation in which meals,gas, hotels and wine are covered...

2. A medium sized bag to hold all my work and personal stuff each day... i travel to see my students all over our district and sometimes i just want to hold my planner,ipad,wallet, advil and also my teaching tools:play-dough,race cars, crafting supplies and goldfish all in one! Is that so much to ask?

3. This cute but simple DrWho bracelet from etsy ...

4. This spiffy bamboo lapdesk from etsy...lightweight,sustainable and jumpstarted with a kick-starter campaign to boot!

5. A haircut and maybe some color too?

6. Maybe a gift card to one of my happy places? Target,Starbucks,TJMaxx and Victorias Secret to name a few fave places to indulge...

What do you think of when you make your wish-list? I had a bit of a hard time this year and i wonder if it is the sensible practical side eighth of my brain taking over but a list of things that i would get if i had cash chillin around did not come as easily this year... Happy Weekend y'all

Summer Teaching

So as a behavior therapist for early childhood i basically am one of those teachers who does NOT get the summer off....so not only do i feel like this all summer.....

but i also hate all these adorable things from teachers who do have the summer off....

Soooo to summarize my job rocks but i wouldn't mind being a teacher with the summer off. ..or maybe just part of the summer....
